Matthew 25:40 (ESV)

And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me

Who We Are

The Harvest Point Prison ministry seeks to ministry to those incarcerated in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system by providing hope found only in Jesus Christ for the hopeless and encouragement to those who have already found that hope in Him.

What We Do

Currently the HP Prison Ministry is engaged with two TDCJ facilities.  They are the Pam Lychner State jail and the Carol Young Medical Facility TDCJ.  At Pam Lychner we partner with Crossroads Ministry Network to present a small group Bible Study and serve as mentors for the inmates.  This is a male only action.  At Carol Young we have male and female volunteers who present the gospel, pray with, encourage, and listen to the inmates as we go from room to room. We also distribute gospel tracts and other devotional material and conduct a Bible study.  We currently go into the Pam Lychner unit on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays and the Carol Young unit on the 1st Saturday and 3rd Thursday of each month.

Why We Do It

Matthew 28:19–20 (ESV) 19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Hebrews 13:3 (ESV) 3Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.

Matthew 25:34–40 (ESV) 34Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,36I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’

37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?  38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’  40And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
