The Adventure Seekers is a Connect Group that presents opportunities for people who share a passion for travel, history, and global cuisine. Through missional living and intentional hospitality, members explore the many wonders of the world that God has created, worshiping and marveling in His majesty while building meaningful relationships with others.
Whether you’re drawn to ancient landmarks, vibrant cultures, or flavors from around the globe, The Adventure Seekers invites you to step outside the familiar and experience the richness of God’s diverse creation—together. WHAT INITIALLY DREW YOU TO SERVE IN THIS MINISTRY?
Our love for travel and cultural activities keeps us passionate about exploring the world around us. We wanted to create a space where others could share that same passion while growing in community and faith.
WHAT IS THE CORE MISSION OF THE ADVENTURE SEEKERS?
Our vision is to gather a community of adventure seekers intrigued by the beauty of God’s creation, natural wonders, human accomplishments, and cultural heritage. Through intentional hospitality and shared experiences, we aim to put God on display in everything we explore.
HOW DOES THIS MINISTRY SERVE OUR COMMUNITY?
Adventure Seekers participants create lasting memories, experience personal growth, and learn to appreciate diversity. Through travel and cultural activities, they have the opportunity to put God on display and grow deeper in fellowship with one another.
WHAT WOULD SURPRISE PEOPLE MOST ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
We are an activity-driven Connect Group for adults 18 years and older, welcoming everyone from singles to married couples, young adults to senior adults. You don’t have to be an experienced traveler to join us—just bring curiosity and a heart for connection.
WHAT KIND OF IMPACT HAS THIS MINISTRY HAD?
Participants have bonded and shared personal life experiences through a variety of activities such as dining out, attending plays at The Ensemble, experiencing the Opera, visiting the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C., and taking a Central American cruise to Honduras and Belize. These experiences deepen relationships and help us see God’s hand in cultures around the world.
HOW DOES YOUR MINISTRY PARTNER WITH OTHER MINISTRIES AT ONE CHURCH?
Participants are welcome to invite family and friends to join the adventure. We’ve had family members and friends participate in Adventure Seeker activities on several occasions, creating opportunities for outreach and deeper community connection.
WHAT ARE COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT JOINING?
The most common misconception about The Adventure Seekers is the lack of time or financial resources needed to participate. Throughout the year we offer a variety of activities, and we encourage everyone to participate as their budget and schedule allows. Adventure doesn’t require a passport—sometimes it’s just a local play or a new restaurant.
